Tenuta Aquadivina is located in the province of Pisa, 2 km from the town of Palaia, one of the places richest in history in the whole area of Valdera. Nestled in the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by a landscape of rare beauty, the land extends for about 30 hectares divided between century-old cypresses, flowering meadows, Mediterranean scrub, biodynamic crops, olive groves and vineyards. Walking among them it will not be at all uncommon to find shells and marine fossils, a singularity due to the fact that 20,000 years ago this area was under the sea.

The olive trees are of the typical Tuscan variety from which we make a fine oil with an intense and aromatic flavour. Starting with the 2023 harvest, moreover, our oil will be IGP Toscana certified.

The black grape vines produce a red Sangiovese Canaiolo Ciliegiolo Malvasia: being young, they will be vinified as rosé for the first few years. We have recently planted the white Trebbiano vines as well, chosen as they are part of the native varieties and traditionally present in Tuscany.

Cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, the land allows for an environmentally friendly approach that is in balance with the planet’s ecosystem, so as to obtain organic products in which quality and purity go hand in hand with taste and genuineness: in addition to wine and oil, the company produces medicinal herbs, fruit and vegetables, all currently certified organic, but already on the long road to the Demeter biodynamic certification.

In addition to these, Tenuta Aquadivina also produces gin, the only one to remain organic rather than biodynamic, and honey, produced by a trusted beekeeper who seasonally brings his hives onto the property.

Tenuta Aquadivina is located in a strategic point for visiting places steeped in history and culture. As a matter of fact, the province of Pisa is an area rich in villages to discover and landscapes to fall in love with. The villages in particular are all characterised by a medieval layout and the presence of towers and castles.
Palaia is a village of Etruscan origin with a medieval layout. Many nature hikes leave from its surrounding hamlets.
Not far from Palaia is Montefoscoli, from which one can reach the temple of Minerva Medica, a Masonic building erected around 1822.
Volterra is a medieval town situated on a hill about 500 m above sea level: the walls that surround it, the Palazzo dei Priori and its narrow alleys make it fascinating and picturesque. Inside its walls, there is a circuit of museums (including an alabaster museum) and archaeological areas that span the history of art from the Etruscan period to the 19th-century.

Vicopisano is dotted with medieval towers corresponding to the ancient accesses to the village. The fortress, built by Brunelleschi, represents one of the finest examples of Florentine military architecture from the first half of the 15th-century.
Lari is a town of Etruscan origin, whose centre is dominated by the Castello dei Vicari, a fortress that reached its maximum splendour after the the year 1400, when it became the seat of the Florentine Vicariate.
Casale Marittimo is one of the smallest hamlets in the province of Pisa, worth visiting both for its medieval buildings, including the castle, the casa del Camarlingo and the palazzo della Rocca, and also because the narrow stone streets winding up to the centre of the village lead to terraces overlooking unique views, including the islands of the Tuscan archipelago.

Only a few kilometres from Pisa is Calci, overlooking the Valgraziosa, known for its Certosa Monumentale, a complex founded in 1336 by the Carthusian order and characterised by a Baroque façade and beautiful frescoed ceilings. The building houses the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa, which boasts the largest museum of whales in Italy. Not far from Calci is the Rocca della Verruca, the ruins of a 13th-century fortress perched on the Pisan hills for defensive purposes.
Pomaia is home to the Lama Tzong Khapa Institute, one of Italy's most important Buddhist centres, a place of reflection and meditation and an oasis of silence, peace and tranquillity.

San Miniato, a village halfway between Pisa and Florence, is best known for its white truffle. Its historic centre is characterised by buildings of great historic and architectural interest, the fortress of Frederick II, built around 1220 in honour of the emperor, and a museum system that includes the archaeological area of San Genesio.

Tenuta Aquadivina is located halfway between Pisa and Florence, two extraordinary cities in terms of historic, architectural, artistic and cultural attractions.

In addition to the aforementioned places of undoubted historical interest, the areas surrounding the estate offer many walking paths and routes suitable for bicycles (no cycle paths).

Horse riding, golf, tennis and padel can be practised within a short distance in appropriate facilities.

On its grounds Tenuta Aquadivina houses a historic residence built in the 16th century, first seen on Leopoldine maps and formerly known as 'Il Poggione'. This name was maintained until a Roman prince bought the property, changing its name to its present one.

The interiors, which were completely renovated a few years ago, are characterised by a succession of spacious and elegant rooms full of precious details and perfectly preserved original elements, such as different types of flooring and large marble fireplaces. Each space is embellished with some of the most iconic pieces of mid-century Italian design, for which the owners have a great passion, carefully chosen and collected over the years.

The surrounding areas of the villa, steeped in nature, have been planned for dining and relaxation purposes: various seating arrangements and lounges ideal for privacy in the greenery, an early 20th-century lemon-tree house with a table carved from a naturally fallen Italian sequoia, a large wisteria-covered gazebo ideal for weddings. Visitors will be gratified by the colours of the flowering plants, from wisteria to buddleia, from lilacs to wild orchids, and the sense of smell by the unmistakable scent of aromatic plants.

To make the outdoors even more pleasant and enjoyable there is also a swimming pool, located in the centre of the park about 30 metres from the house, surrounded by a solarium area equipped with sun loungers, deckchairs and beach sunshades, and served by a changing room, an outdoor bathroom with shower, a bar area and a gazebo. The oval-shaped swimming pool, which can be heated, is equipped with interior lighting and a whirlpool bath.

The interiors of Tenuta Aquadivina are conceived, structured and furnished to offer guests maximum comfort and contemporary design against a backdrop of historic architecture.

The farmhouse is divided into two floors plus a large attic.

On the ground floor are the following common areas:

• the entrance hall: a multifunctional room divided into various areas to enjoy the warmth of the lit fireplace, or sit and read one of the many art and design books available to guests, or stop to observe the surrounding panorama framed by the large windows overlooking the garden

• a large living room equipped with armchairs and sofas in which to spend moments of rest and tranquillity

• a small games room: a space dedicated to recreation with a foosball table and a poker table

• a dining room with a large table to indulge in the pleasures of the cuisine and spend moments of conviviality

• the kitchen, the chefs' temple, fitted with professional equipment to prepare or have delicious meals prepared using biodynamic products from the estate itself

• la Stanza Giardino (the Garden Room), so called because it has direct access to the garden: a standard room with a double bed and whirlpool tub

• la Stanza Bianca (the White Room), formerly used as a staff room: the simplest and most essential room in the house

• a service bathroom

• the laundry room, equipped with a Miele washing machine and dryer

On the first floor are various rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms:

• la Stanza delle Scimmie (the Monkey Room), named after the silhouettes of small black monkeys on a light background that characterise the Maison Martin Margiela wallpaper: a standard room with a double bed
• la Stanza Pastello (the Pastel Room), named after the colour of the walls that have been left natural: a standard room with a double bed
• la Stanza dei Cavalli (the Horses Room), because of the figures of horses and jockeys dotting the walls: a superior room with a double bed and a large private relaxation area
• la Stanza Bordeaux (the Burgundy Room), characterised by warm dark red wood panelling that creates a pleasant contrast to the white walls: a double suite with a double-bed room and a sitting room, in which two beds are arranged to form a sofa but, if necessary, can be used as single beds
• the Master Suite, distinguished by a trompe-l'œil on the entire wall simulating light-coloured curtains: a suite with a private living area featuring a white marble fireplace (not functioning)

The entire attic is occupied by la Stanza dei Tronchi (the Lumber Room), named both for the decoration of the walls and the exposed ceiling beams: a superior room with a double bed and private relaxation area.

The estate can accommodate up to 16 guests and arrangements can be made on request for:

• private training sessions with a certified personal trainer
• individual or group yoga and pilates classes with a certified teacher
• chiro massage and ayurvedic karma therapy with a certified massage therapist
• swimming lessons for children and adults and aqua aerobics courses held by a certified swimming teacher
• private cooking courses including: harvesting of produce from the organic vegetable garden, preparation of dishes under the guidance of a chef, ending with lunch. Menus can be chosen among typical Tuscan, vegetarian, pasta-only, or Italian classics. In addition to the classic cookery courses, a more specific course in preserves, made with seasonal products from the farm, may also be requested
• dinners and/or lunches prepared by a private chef with the possibility of wine matching on request
• "truffle hunt" including: excursion with professional truffle hunters and dogs in the woods around Aquadivina, dinner prepared by a private chef, not compulsory but highly recommended, based on truffles. This activity is only provided during the truffle season, from 10th September to 31st December
• "olive harvesting" including: collection of organic olives from the estate's olive groves, visit to the oil mill, tasting of freshly pressed oil, dinner prepared by a private chef, not compulsory but highly recommended. This activity is only scheduled for the third and fourth week of October
• "grape harvest" including: harvesting of organic grapes in the estate vineyards, participation in the grape harvest, lunch or “farmer's dinner” prepared by a private chef. This activity is planned for around mid-September only
• weddings and events: since Tenuta Aquadivina is an official extension of the Municipality of Palaia, non-religious weddings can be celebrated here. We will be happy to assist you with the organisation.
